I am pleased to announce I just assisted buyer-clients in the purchase of a mid-century home located at 96 Shelley Drive, in Mill Valley. This home originally listed at $795,000 and features 3 bedrooms and 3 full baths with over 1900 sq. ft. of interior space. My clients were able to purchase this home for $687,500 and also availed themselves of historically low interest rates.
96 Shelley Drive sits prominently above Blithedale Blvd. and affords commanding views of the surrounding hills. There were several significant upgrades made to this home before it was brought to market including installation of a new rear deck and front stairway, all new windows and sliders and the refinishing of hardwood floors throughout. The interior and exterior of…
Mill Valley Annual Art Festival - September 25 & 26

Nestled in the heart and the soul of Mount Tamalpais, the sleeping beauty as the Miwok Indians referred to her, Mill Valley is a special place in people’s hearts and homes. First I think people fall in love with the charm of downtown; the piazza at the center where people gather for coffee or play dates with the kids, the theatres, art galleries and the wide array of shops and fine dining. The Depot Bookstore and Café at the base of the piazza used to be the old train station that brought visitors to Mount Tamalpais from San Francisco via Sausalito by way of ferry prior to the Golden Gate Bridge being built. The piazza is also the starting point for the famous Dipsea Foot Race – the oldest foot race in the country. 100 years strong…

Having recently assisted buyers in the successful purchase of a probate sale involving court confirmation in Marin County, I feel sufficiently well-versed to share my knowledge about the process, which can be daunting for those buyers who are unfamiliar with it.
By way of background, the Marin County Public Administrator Michael J. Smith maintains legal responsibility for the full administration of a person's estate when there is no appropriate person (family member or other designated administrator) available to: claim the property, make funeral arrangements, protect the assets and manage the affairs of a deceased Marin County resident. In order to carry out these responsibilities, the Public Administrator maintains a professional staff of Deputies and…

Tired of Low Mortgage Rates?
Sunday, September 19th, 2010 at 9:06pm. 1166 Views, 0 Comments.
Although it's safe to assume that few people are actually "tired" of today's record-low mortgage rates, it does seem that many think they will remain low for the long haul. Or, perhaps drop even lower..? While this could happen, I've been in this business long enough to know that there is no crystal ball on interest rates. And election years tend to throw everything out-of-wack.
Although mortgage rates have edged up slightly over the past week- about .125% - they remain extremely low. With government support behind high balance conforming loans to $729,750, a good percentage of buyers in the Bay Area's expensive housing market still have access to the best 30-year loans in history. With a 20% down payment against a purchase…
