Shopping Malls in Marin County

With the holiday season upon us, we have many clients and friends (especially those that  recently relocated to Marin County) that are interested in finding out where the major shopping malls are located in Marin County, California.

Truth be told, some of the best shopping in Marin can be found at boutique retail stores located in downtown Mill Valley, Larkspur, Fairfax, San Anselmo, and San Rafael, however there are a handful of large shopping centers in Marin which are worth a visit:

The Village at Corte Madera

Located in Corte Madera on the east side of Highway 101, the Village at Corte Madera is an upscale outdoor mall.    The anchor stores at The Village at Corte Madera include Nordstroms and Macys however there are many other familiar retail tenants which occupy this 430,000+ square foot mall.    In addition to great shopping, this mall is extremely child-friendly and features a fabulous play area for small children.

Corte Madera Town Center

Located on the west side of Highway 101 is the Corte Madera Town Center.  The anchor stores at the Corte Madera Town Center include the Container Store, REI, Barnes and Noble, and Safeway.   Additionally, the Bay Club, a popular gym / sports club in Marin County, is located at the North end of the Corte Madera Town Center mall.

Northgate Mall, San Rafael

Located in the Terra Linda neighborhood of San Rafael is The Northgate Mall, the largest retail shopping center and only indoor mall in Marin County.  The current anchor stores for the Northgate Mall include Macys, Sears, and Century Theatres.    This mall is currently undergoing extensive renovations which you can learn more about by visiting Northgate Mall construction and renovation.

Vintage Oaks, Novato

Located in Northern Marin is the Vintage Oaks Shopping Center in Novato.   Constructed in 1992, the Vintage Oaks Shopping Mall is the newest mall in Marin County and its anchor stores include Target, Costco, Old Navy, Macy's Novato Furniture Store, and the Sports Authority.

Hopefully this information will come in handy this holiday season!   Please contact us anytime if we can assist you with your Marin County real estate needs!

I work across the bridge and found some shopping events doubling as parties that have proven to be fun in the past. The link to them is: http://www.chdmag.com/events for December
